Mathers Bridge
Mather's Bridge connects South Tropical
Trail on the southern end of Merritt Island
to Banana River Drive in Indian Harbor
Beach. It is a low concrete draw bridge with
a fishing catwalk on either side. Probably
one of the best places to fish from on foot
as you can cover almost the entire cross
section of the Banana River fron one shore
to the other except where the actual swing
bridge is. Editors note; I grew up
fishing this bridge when it was an old
rickety wooden bridge and the old Mathers
Bridge Fish Camp was still there. Many
memories of many fish!
